Introduction to Writing Unit

This unit offers expertise and consultation services especially in the field of language. To date, the services provided are translation, proofreading, consultation and formatting. These services are in great demand among students, especially postgraduate students to complete their thesis. This is also in line with the circular issued by the Center for Graduate Studies (CGS) dated 1 January 2018 with Ref. No.: UTHM/PS/600-214Jld.5(10) which requires supervisors to ensure that the thesis produced by their postgraduate research students have undergone the process of proofreading for viva purposes.

In addition, there is also a demand primarily for the proofreading services among the academic staff who intend to publish their work in journals or to be presented at national and international conferences/seminars. The Writing Unit also receives requests from non-academic staff who submit various official documents to be proofread or translated to be used at the department, faculty, centre or university level. The Writing Unit has also started to get recognition from individuals outside UTHM who submitted their documents to be proofread..
